To the North!

Hope you’ve all had a festive New Year. We spent the evening visiting a few drinking haunts on the Isle du St Louis and then joined in with a parade. This consisted of a large boat decorated with coloured paper (see photo). Carruthers befriended all by fixing the generator to get it started and then steering the un-steerable boat around town and through a judging arena. A few friends and myself held onto the sides of the boat and pushed and pulled it along. What fun!

On Thursday we departed our house on Le Corniche and are now lodging with friends near the village of Gandiol. Mbuthu where they live is marvellous and we are enjoying the last days of rest before we drive north.

So to the north we go! We are driving back to the motherland on Monday via Mauritania, Morocco, Spain and France. We plan to rest a week or so in Morocco to scout the region for some future plans… and then to the cold climes of Europe. We have our woollies close by for the ready!

We hope you like the little video we have attached to this instalment…
